Series Registration
Racers wishing to participate in the MASS series overall individual competition and MASS team competition must register for the series and pay a series fee of $20 (free for juniors) for you primary racing class. Registration will be done on-line using bikereg.com. You will then be entered into the MASS Series database for individual and team scoring. Racers wishing to race in more than one class will be able to register for additional classes for an additional fee of $5.00 for each additional class. Additional classes must be within the same category (Beginner, Sport or Expert/Elite).
For example, if you are going to compete in the XC series competition and the endurance competition you will register for one of the classes and pay $20 and you will add the other class for $5.00. There is no extra charge to be included in the STXC series competition but you must be registered for at least one class in one of the other series competitions.
Racers must be registered for the series for your race results to count towards the series overall individual competition and team competition. If a racer is registering after the first race they can request in writing for any points they may have been awarded at the previous race to be included in their series individual and team standings. Points will be retroactive for only one race!
Important - Series registration is only available through BikeReg and will not be available at the races. You must be registered for the series before a race for points from that race to count towards individual and team points. There will be no retro-active race credits for 2008.
You must indicate the MASS team you are racing for when registering for the series in order for your points to count towards your team points. Please look at the “List of Confirmed Riders” on bikereg and enter your team name the same as it appears for others on your teams. Failure to do so could delay your team points being counted. You may only race for one MASS team during the season.
Registered racers will be assigned a different series number plate for each class they register for (except STXC classes). This is due to the requirements of our timing companies. Series number plates will typically be available for pick-up at the next race following on-line registration.
You must race in one of the classes you registered for the series with the proper number plate for that class in order to be scored. If you change classes at the race or register as a day-of racer and get a different plate because you lost your series plate you will not be scored for that race. The only way to change classes is to notify the MASS Director prior to the race and get approval and a new number plate assignment.
Keep your number plate. Number plates are expensive. Please do not loose your number plate. If you loose your number plate you will have to purchase a blank plate for $5 and your number will be handwritten on the blank plate.
One-Day Racers
The series fee is not mandatory nor is it a requirement. Racers do not have to register for the series to race at individual races. One-day racers will be eligible for the awards offered at each race. One day racers will not score any series individual or team points.
One-day racers are encouraged to keep their number plate for use at future races in case they decide to become a series racer.
